JOBBER × CHATGPT · TESTED AND WORKING

Can you connect Jobber to ChatGPT?
Yes. Here's exactly how.

ChatGPT supports custom MCP connectors on paid plans, and the same private connector we run for JobberToClaude plugs right in. We've tested it ourselves. Below: the full setup, what to expect, and how one connector covers both ChatGPT and Claude.

The short answer

Yes, and here's
what changed

ChatGPT now supports custom connectors built on MCP, the Model Context Protocol, the same open standard Claude's connectors use. Turn on Developer Mode in ChatGPT's settings, add a connector link, and ChatGPT can read and act on outside tools. Our connector speaks that protocol, so it plugs into ChatGPT the same way it plugs into Claude. We've run it in both.

A heads-up if you've been searching: most tutorials about connecting Jobber to ChatGPT describe custom GPTs with Actions, an older approach, and OpenAI has reshuffled its apps and connectors menus more than once in 2026. The steps below reflect the current MCP connector path, which is the one that gives you the full range of Jobber actions. Once connected, you ask in plain English:

What's on the schedule tomorrow, and do any visits overlap?
Find every closed job from last month that hasn't been invoiced.
Create a quote for the Hendersons: mulch install, 12 yards, our standard rate.
Log this receipt as an expense against the Oakwood job.

Connected means both directions. ChatGPT reads your real Jobber data and answers in plain English, and when you ask it to change something, like building a quote or moving a visit, it asks you to confirm, makes the change, and shows you what it did right there in the conversation. Nothing happens behind your back, and you never hand over your Jobber password to anyone.

How it works

One connector,
both assistants

JobberToClaude is not a shared app that pools everyone's data. Each customer gets their own dedicated connector, running on their own Jobber developer credentials. Because the connector is built on the open MCP standard, it isn't tied to one assistant: the same personal link works in ChatGPT, in Claude, and in any other MCP-compatible client. Add it to both and use whichever is open.

What we handle

Deployment, hosting, uptime, security updates, and secure credential storage. One subscription, no per-assistant fees.

What stays yours

Your Jobber account, your credentials, and the ability to revoke access at any time from your own account, on either side.

What you need

Three things to
get started

A Jobber account

Any plan with API access.

A paid ChatGPT plan

Custom MCP connectors require Developer Mode, available on paid ChatGPT plans on the web. Claude and other MCP-compatible clients also work with the same connector.

A JobberToClaude subscription

7-day free trial, no charge to start. One subscription covers ChatGPT, Claude, and any MCP-compatible assistant.

Step by step

Connecting in
three steps

Step 1: Sign up and connect your Jobber credentials

Create your JobberToClaude account, start the 7-day free trial, and follow the guided setup to generate your own Jobber API credentials. We deploy your dedicated connector and hand you a personal connection link.

  • Create your account and start the 7-day free trial. No charge to start.
  • The guided setup walks you through creating free Jobber developer credentials, every click covered.
  • Your credentials are stored encrypted and used only by your private connector.
  • At the end you get one connector link. That link is what plugs into ChatGPT.

Step 2: Turn on Developer Mode in ChatGPT

In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings, go to Apps, and turn on Developer Mode under Advanced settings. This is what lets ChatGPT connect to custom MCP connectors. It requires a paid ChatGPT plan.

  • Open ChatGPT on the web and go to Settings, then Apps.
  • Under Advanced settings, toggle Developer Mode on.
  • If you don't see the toggle, check your plan: Developer Mode requires a paid ChatGPT plan and is web-only.

Step 3: Add your connector and approve it

In the Connectors tab, add your JobberToClaude connector link, approve the permissions, and start a new chat. Ask about your schedule and watch ChatGPT answer from your real Jobber account.

  • In the Connectors tab, paste your personal connector link exactly as we provide it.
  • Approve the permissions when ChatGPT asks.
  • Open a new chat and try: “What's on my Jobber schedule this week?”
  • ChatGPT will ask you to confirm before it changes anything in Jobber. That's normal and it's a good thing.
Start your free trialAbout 15 minutes, start to finish.

Compare

ChatGPT vs. Claude,
same connector

You don't have to pick. The same connector link works in both, and your subscription covers both. Here's what each side looks like day to day.

Your connector in ChatGPT

The same private connector, running through Developer Mode.

Where it works
ChatGPT on the web, on paid plans with Developer Mode on.
Setup
Two toggles and a paste. About two minutes once your connector exists.
What to expect
Full read and write access to Jobber. ChatGPT asks you to confirm before changing anything.

Best for: Owners already living in ChatGPT who don't want to switch assistants.

Your connector in Claude

The same private connector, added as a Claude connector.

Where it works
Claude web, desktop, and mobile apps, on paid Claude plans.
Setup
Paste one link into Claude's settings and approve it.
What to expect
Full read and write access to Jobber, with connector support that's been in Claude longer.

Best for: Owners who want the connection available on their phone in the field.

Troubleshooting

If something
doesn't connect

Most setups sail through in one pass. ChatGPT's custom connector support is newer than Claude's, so when something snags, it's almost always one of these.

I don't see the Developer Mode toggle

Developer Mode requires a paid ChatGPT plan and is only available in ChatGPT on the web, not the mobile apps. If you're on the right plan and still don't see it, check whether a workspace admin has disabled it.

The connector connected but doesn't show up in chat

Start a brand-new conversation. Existing chats don't pick up newly added connectors. If it still doesn't appear, remove the connector and add it again. This is a known ChatGPT quirk, not a problem with your connector.

ChatGPT keeps asking me to confirm actions

That's by design. ChatGPT asks for confirmation before any action that changes data in Jobber, like creating a quote or moving a visit. Reads don't need confirmation.

It works in Claude but not in ChatGPT

Both use the exact same connector link, so if it works in one, the connector itself is healthy. ChatGPT's custom connector support is newer and occasionally hiccups. Remove and re-add the connector in ChatGPT, then start a new chat.

Jobber credential errors during setup

Regenerate the API credentials in your Jobber developer account and re-enter both values. Copy-paste errors are the usual cause. Check for extra spaces at the start or end.

FAQ

Frequently asked
questions

Does Jobber have an official ChatGPT integration?

No. Jobber does not offer an official ChatGPT integration, custom GPT, or MCP server. JobberToClaude works with Jobber by giving you your own private connector running on your own Jobber developer credentials, which plugs into ChatGPT through Developer Mode.

Do I need a paid ChatGPT plan?

Yes. Custom MCP connectors in ChatGPT require Developer Mode, which is available on paid ChatGPT plans in the web app. That plan is between you and OpenAI and is separate from your JobberToClaude subscription.

Do I need a separate JobberToClaude subscription to use ChatGPT?

No. Your connector link works with anything MCP-compatible. One JobberToClaude subscription covers ChatGPT, Claude, and any other MCP client, at the same flat price.

Can I use it with both ChatGPT and Claude?

Yes. Add the same connector link to both and use whichever you like, whenever you like. Both talk to the same Jobber account through the same private connector.

What about custom GPTs and Actions?

Custom GPTs with Actions were the older way to wire ChatGPT to outside tools, and most tutorials you'll find describe that path. MCP connectors through Developer Mode replaced it for this kind of integration: they support the full range of Jobber actions and don't require building or maintaining a GPT.

Which is better, ChatGPT or Claude?

Both work with the same connector, and we test on both. Claude's connector support has been around longer and also works in its mobile apps, while ChatGPT's Developer Mode is newer and web-only. Try both on your free trial and keep whichever fits how you work.

Can ChatGPT change things in Jobber, or just read?

Both. It can read your schedule, clients, quotes, and invoices, and it can create and update them when you ask. ChatGPT asks you to confirm before making changes, and every action shows up in the conversation.

How long does setup take?

About 15 minutes for the full JobberToClaude setup, then about two more minutes to add the connector to ChatGPT.

Is my data shared with other customers?

No. Each customer gets a dedicated connector running on their own Jobber credentials. Your data flows between your Jobber account and your conversations, and nothing pools through a shared app.

What does it cost?

$47/month after a 7-day free trial. One price, your own dedicated connector, all features included, usable in ChatGPT and Claude alike.

Can I disconnect it?

Yes, instantly, from either side: remove the connector in ChatGPT's settings or revoke the credentials in your Jobber account.
